DSB Conference 2023

At the English-language conference, the majority of the programs of the BDI were represented: doctoral students from the Ecology and Evolution, Ethology, Structural Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Zootaxonomy, Animal Ecology, Hydrobiology, and Neuroscience and Human Biology programs presented interesting and exciting new results in 10-minute talks and "flash" poster presentations (in 3 minutes).
As part of the morning and afternoon sessions, plenary presentations were delivered by two ELTE alumni, Prof. László Acsády, a neurobiologist, and Prof. Péter Batáry, an ecologist and conservation biologist talked about their outstanding career and exciting research.
Biocenter and Bio-Kasztel, as exhibiting companies and sponsors of the conference participated in the event.
At the end of the conference, the Scientific Committee selected the best presenters from the fields of infra- and supraindividual biology, both from regular talk and flash poster sessions, with a certificate of recognition accompanied by a monetary prize. The awardees this year are Maissa Ben Mahmoud (Neuroscience and Human Biology Program), Bálint Halpern (Zootaxonomy, Animal Ecology, Hydrobiology Program), Fanni Keresztes (Genetics Program), and Dror Shany (Ethology Program). Once again, congratulations to the awardees, and we wish them continued success in their future research endeavors!
