Brain Awareness Week again!
As part of the national Brain Awareness Week, the ELTE Faculty of Natural Sciences, the HUN-REN Institute of Experimental Medicine, the HUN-REN Natural Science Research Centre, the Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Semmelweis University will provide interesting programmes for those interested in brain research at the Lágymányos campus of the ELTE!

Visitors can learn about the latest methods of studying brain function. Nearly 60 lecturers, researchers and students from the Institute of Biology will help to organise the country's largest free event on neurobiology and brain research in the Southern Building of ELTE TTK. The two-day event will feature a number of free and interactive activities, alongside popular lectures by internationally renowned experts.

They will include ground-breaking research on vision restoration, early detection of Alzheimer's disease or what is needed to teach robots to behave. Visitors can test themselves by polygraph lie detectors or measure their grip force and stamina with wearable brain and muscle activity meters. Several interactive stations provide the possibility to build a maze for mice or to find out what virtual reality means for them and to teach rats simple activities. There will also be gesture-controlled robots and cognitive psychology tests, and visitors can even learn how to select brain areas responsible for thinking on human MRI scans. The Biology and Paleontology Exhibition will be free to visit and, after on-site registration, lucky visitors will be given a tour within the Institute of Biology's research microscopy and ethology laboratories.

Children, school groups, high school students and adults are all welcome at the ELTE Faculty of Science!

The event is supported by the National Brain Research Programme 3.0, the Hungarian Neuroscience Society and Richter Genedon Plc. Participation is free of charge, but for some programmes on-site registration is required.
