B.Sc. Thesis Requirements for Biology Students

At the end of their undergraduate studies, B.Sc. students in Biology are required to write a thesis, which is a prerequisite for being allowed to take the final examination. The thesis must be prepared under the supervision of a designated advisor. The advisor supports the student through regular consultation sessions, assisting in the search and evaluation of relevant scientific literature and in the successful completion of independent research work. These consultations are embedded within the framework of subject-specific laboratory courses.

AI Declaration

According to the decision of the Council of the Institute of Biology, the use of artificial intelligence-based software for editorial purposes is permitted in theses and dissertations submitted during the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. However, the use of AI tools to generate new content is not allowed (except for theses in which the use of AI-based tools is an integral part of the research). In accordance with the Council’s decision, students must include the following declaration—completed in the language of the thesis—as part of the submitted document.
